A water main break produced what a passer-by called a 'geyser' along Carlyle Avenue near Belleville East High School Friday morning. The 12-inch water main break has been repaired and water service has been restored to 12 customers affectedk, according to Illinois American Water spokesman Terry Mackin. Those customers have been placed under a boil order. The cause of the break has not been determined, Mackin said.
