EDWARDSVILLE – The Class 4A state championship defense begins this week for the Edwardsville baseball team. The Tigers (26-9) are the No. 1 seed in Sub-Sectional A of the Class 4A Illinois Wesleyan Sectional and will host the Edwardsville Regional. Edwardsville will host seventh-seeded Quincy (14-16) in the first semifinal at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Tom Pile Field, followed by the second semifinal between fourth-seeded Collinsville (15-14) and sixth-seeded Alton (9-22). The regional championship game is 10 a.
